Power agenda: why United States of America blocked the Russian draft of the statement of UN Security Council about respect of the sovereignty of Venezuela

United States of America vetoed the draft of the joint statement of UN Security Council with an appeal to respect the sovereignty of Venezuela. The document was prepared by Russian Federation and offered at Security Council meeting in connection with the statement of the Venezuelan authorities for penetration into the country of mercenaries from Colombia. As reported Caracas, militiamen managed to stop invasion and to detain several saboteurs, including two citizens of United States of America — the staff of the American private security companies Silvercorp.
