South Korea plans to invest in "green technologies" Komi Republic

the Delegation of Consulate general of South Korea in Saint Petersburg visited the capital Komi Republic.

the Korean guests arrived for the purpose of studying of possibility of investments to alternative power engineering and "green technologies" the republics.

Working I will meet with director general trade department of Consulate general of South Korea in Saint Petersburg Kym John Khun - Hoon and his deputy Li Tae Hoon the vice-chairman of Government Komi Republic – the minister of investments carried out, the industries and transports Komi Republic Gerasimov Nicholas.

the Deputy Prime Minister noted that Government Komi Republic considers South Korea as the partner with high potential. Gerasimov Nicholas hoped that in the near future oral arrangements will develop into real projects, having emphasized that to Komi Republic all conditions for work of investors are created. As proof to it to the Korean colleagues presented the investment potential of the republic, and also projects in the sphere "green technologies". It is a question of so-called waste-free production. Annually in the course of productions at the woodworking enterprises of the republic about 2 million tons of wood waste which can be used in alternative power engineering are formed.

John Khun invited representatives Komi Republic to visit the international forum on alternative power engineering which will take place at the beginning of September in South Korea. The forum will allow to hold business negotiations directly with investors.

In 2015 the Representation Komi Republic in Saint Petersburg organized presentation of investment projects Komi Republic in the sphere "green technologies" to the Korean business community. Then the republics were presented the project of LLC "PechoraEnergoResurs" on creation of the second turn of wood-processing productions deep processing of wood, the construction project of plant on production bioethanol in Troitsko-Pechyorsk district, and also the project of creation of a woodworking complex in Udorsky district.

in the Summer of this year chapter Komi Republic Sergei Gaplikov at INNOPROM-2018 forum in Yekaterinburg met the vice-president the KOTRA [kotra – the Korean agency of assistance to trade and to investments – a comment] mister Yeung Wong Cuok. At a meeting questions of attraction of investments in an industry of the region, introduction of agroinnovations and modern wood-processing technologies were discussed.
