Olga Lyubimov reported that Russians give preference to comedies and family cinema

Among the Russian cinema-goers animation, comedy, adventure and family movies enjoy the most wide popularity. The Minister of Culture told Russian Federation Olga Lyubimov whom information agency "ITAR-TASS" quotes. She noted that nearly a quarter in a total amount of collecting this year was brought by domestic movies in a genre of family cinema. As an example the minister reminded of success of the movie "Cheburashka" which became the most cash Russian movie (6,7 billion rubles).
