The international day of the Black Sea is celebrated annually on October 31 in memory of day 1996 when six Black Sea countries — Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Georgia, Russian Federation and Ukraine — signed the Strategic plan of action on rehabilitation and protection of the Black Sea.
