Nature: to Colombia consider the law on a ban of application of animals in science

The Nature magazine reports that senate of Colombia considers the bill and the amendment to the constitution of expansion of the rights of animals that can lead to a ban practically all researches with use of live fauna in the country. It is noted that Colombia remains to one of the countries with the richest biodiversity in the world. In the bill which has arrived in the senate it is said that "application of live animals in the academic and scientific experiences, experiences of toxicity, biological or related researches" is forbidden if results can be received by "other methods".
