Diet of Republic of Latvia went for mitigation of requirements for language examination

Diet of Republic of Latvia adopted amendments to the immigration law which grant a delay on passing an examination on state language for Russians in the first reading, the diet press service reports. "Amendments are necessary to provide opportunity to all with that who wishes to continue to remain to Latvia in long-term prospect and to know the Latvian language on a conversational level, to make it and after September 1, 2023 to receive residence permit to Latvia" — is specified in the message.
