The general Italian confederation of handicraftsmen (CGIA) reports that over the last 10 years to Italy more than 325 thousand craft workshops were closed. Shoemakers, smiths, tailors, skinners, bagetchik, upholsterers, potters and many other masters close benches and by simple workers or employees are employed on factories or in the large companies. Huge accounts for rent and utilities, very heavy taxes and falling of interest to a handiwork threaten disappearance of the well-known brand of Made in Italy.
