The acting world champion, the Chinese grand master Ventszyun Tszyuy could not break through in the World Cup quarterfinal on chess. The sportswoman conceded 1/8 finals in a match to the German chess player Elizabeth Petts. Sportswomen plaid four games in the match. The first three rounds came to the end in a draw, but in the last party the German sportswoman got the best of the competitor. The meeting came to the end with defeat Ventszyun Tszyuy with the score 1,5:2,5.
