Time in two years the Russian optical society of D. S. Rozhdestvenskogo together with Institute spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISAN) holds competition outstanding scientific works of young scientists (aged till 35 years) on laser physics, spectroscopy and their appendices on delivery of medals of V. S. Letokhov. The outstanding Russian and Soviet scientist-physicist Letokhov Vladilen Stepanovich, the graduate of MIPT and the pupil of the Nobel winner Nicholas Basov, lived in Troitsk and worked at Institute spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISAN).
