Fransin Niyonsaba broke a world record at a distance of 2000 m which stuck to 27 years

The Burundiysky runner Fransin Niyonsaba established a new world record at a distance of 2000 m. At a stage of Continental round in Zagreb (Boris Hanzhekovich's Memorial) it showed time 5.21,56. The previous world record (5.23,75) established indoors, belonged to the world champion from Ethiopia Genzebe Dibaba.
