On August 7 within celebration of Day of the Small Homeland in the city the XIV annual traditional meeting of descendants of Yelets dynasties "Took place and again we were brought together by Yelets". This event is held since 2007 and its purpose is preservation of stories of known surnames. To Yelets on a meeting of descendants there arrived representatives of families from different corners Russian Federation.
