the President of UEFA Alexander Cheferin visited Faroe Islands and expressed satisfaction to that in the country there is a large-scale work on development soccer.

Prezident of UEFA Alexander Cheferin visited Faroe Islands to discuss development local soccer.

Alexander Cheferin talked to the president of Federation of soccer of Faroe Islands (FAF) Andreasen Christian about importance of the program helps UEFA HatTrick which gives to the Faroese soccer important support.

Also the president of UEFA met the prime minister Faroe Islands Axelle Vilkhelmson Yokhannesen and the mayor of the Faroese capital Tórshavn Olsen Annika.

Faroe Islands is a group of 18 small islands which are between Scotland and Iceland. The population of the country makes 50 thousand people, and nearly a half lives in Tórshavn.

Soccer - the most popular sport on Faroe Islands. In the 1988th FAF entered FIFA, and on April 18, 1990 became the member of UEFA.

that arrived here and the eyes saw how local soccer develops, - Alexander Cheferin noted. - FAF sets a fine example of other small national associations. Here the clever, concentrated and laborious work on development soccer" is conducted.

Andreasen Christian assured

that the Faroese soccer is in a good shape." We are concentrated on development players and clubs, - he told. - We consider that it is key aspect of our strategy. At the same time, we conduct reconstruction stadiums with what we are helped by the HatTrick project. As a result our teams, fans and representatives of the press will have the best conditions".

"It is healthy that we could discuss all this with Cheferin personally. I look forward to the moment when we will finish construction new stadiums and I will be able to invite again the president of UEFA to Faroe Islands", - Andreasen Christian added.
