18 people were lost as a result of floods in Cambodia

For the last four weeks in Cambodia as a result of floods and water level lifting in the Mekong River were lost 18 people, including eight children. The official representative of National committee on disaster management of the country Keo Wu reported about it on Monday.

He declared to the correspondent information agency "Sinkhua" that more than 83 thousand families which mainly live in six provinces along the Mekong River, including Province of Stung Treng and Kratyekh suffered from floods. Over 7,2 thousand families were evacuated to areas on heights, under water there were about 45 thousand hectares of rice and other crops.

Now Cambodia endures the peak period of floods. According to Keo Wu, the water level in the Mekong River continues to raise and comes nearer to dangerous marks in many provinces.
