In Karelia the unique church of the XVIII century completely burned down the Fire began

On Lake Onega to Republic of Karelia there was the present cultural tragedy for the country – wooden Church of the Assumption of the XVIII century burned down. The temple was built in 1774, it stood on on the bank of the Kondopoga lip and was the highest of the remained wooden churches of Republic of Karelia. The church burned down almost completely, fire all icons are destroyed, the belltower fell off. Was in nobody, at suppression one firefighter suffered.

Church of the Assumption was not only a monument of architecture of federal value, but also branch of the Kondopoga city museum of local lore.
