Riverbed Technology: 95% of companies are not ready to digital transformation

of Riverbed Technology presented results of the global research Riverbed Digital Performance devoted to calls which companies on a way to digital transformation face. 1000 respondents — the persons making decisions, in companies from the retail sphere, transports, the industries, health care and finance with a revenue more than $500 million — from nine countries of the world (United States of America, United Kingdom, Brazil, Germany, Australia, France, China, Singapore, India) became participants.

Poll showed that almost all participants (99%) realize influence of digital services and productivity of appendices on business. Thus 95% from them confirmed that introduction of digital strategy in companies is impossible at the moment because of shortage budgets, outdated network infrastructure and opacity of network processes.

of 91% of respondents agree that for the last three year influence of digital experience on competitiveness businesses significantly increased. Almost all respondents (98%) are sure that will be able to open as much as possible the capacity of companies only using digital technologies for improvement of such business functions as kliyentky and user experience (53%), sales (49%), efficiency of employees (49%) and speed of a conclusion of novelties on the market (48%).

Vast majority of respondents (95%) declared that in their companies is impossible at the moment realization of strategy of digital transformation. First of all, the limited budget (51%) and difficult IT infrastructure (45%) becomes the main problem on a way of digitalizations. Experts also referred opacity of work of end users (40%), low qualification of shots (39%) and disinterest of the management to negative factors in introduction of digital initiatives (37%).

Near of 80% of respondents noted that face failures in work of crucial digital services at least several times a month . Every fourth the respondent noted that failures in their companies occur several times a week . Every minute of idle time costs companies million dollars of the missed benefit, loss of loyalty of clients and reputation therefore by estimates of respondents, the most admissible time of refusal of operation of application cannot exceed 1 hour (50%).

Three of four interrogated companies ( of 77%) plan to invest recession of productivity of employees (40%) in means for improvement of digital experience in the next 12 months . Among the priority directions of investment of capital, modernization of network infrastructure (60%), control and management of digital experience of the end user (59%), improvement of work of a support service (59%) and applications programming acceleration (58%) were noted.

Respondents recognize that engines of digital developments businesses are cloudy decisions and modern technologies. 99% of respondents are sure that Cloudy technologies — important part of digital strategy of their companies. Besides, they would like that their companies invested in analytics of Big Data (60%), Internet of things (59%), Technologies blokcheyna (48%), Machine training (47%), Artificial intelligence (47%), virtual reality (36%) and 5G-communication (21%).
