In Vietnam because of floods 22 persons were lost

on June 28, Hanoi / BELTA - TASS/. Floods in the northwest Vietnam, proceeding since the end of last week, became a cause of death of 22 people, 9 more people were missing. About it reported in National coordinating committee on fight against consequences of natural disasters.

Most seriously Laytyau's Province of Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Province of Ha Giang, and also some areas of provinces Province of Thai Nguyen and Province of Yen Bai. According to preliminary data, there floods and landslides partially or completely destroyed about 1,5 thousand houses, destroyed more than 1,2 thousand hectares of agricultural grounds, led of over 6 thousand heads of poultry and cattle to death. The high water damaged dams and flooded many sites of highways therefore the transport connection in the northwest region was seriously broken. The material damage caused by elements, is estimated at 458 billion dong (about $20 million).

Affected areas were visited by the extraordinary governmental commission headed by the Deputy Prime Minister Chyin Din Zung. He emphasized importance of rendering the timely help to the families which have appeared in hostages of elements. According to him, the temporary housing and the food is provided to all victims. Local authorities take all measures for situation normalization in the areas which have undergone brunts of the disaster.
