In Vietnam because of floods 17 people were lost

In the northwest Vietnam 17 people were lost and 11 people are reported missing because of the floods caused by long heavy rains. Most of all Laytyau's Province of Lai Chau where 12 people, and Province of Ha Giang were lost where the death toll reached 5 people suffered. In a disaster zone also there was Province of Ha Giang. As a result of floods 80 houses were destroyed, more than 500 houses were impounded, also heavy rains flooded the farmland of 750 hectares. Many bridges and roads were destroyed, in certain areas there were problems with the electric power.

Now 700 experts directed by committee on the prevention and overcoming of natural disasters, carry out evacuation of local population, and also conduct searches of missing persons. The preliminary damage from elements is estimated at 3,3 million dollars.

Weather forecasters warn that the situation can worsen in the next few days as heavy rains will proceed. The season of rains in Vietnam lasts from June to November.
