Frantisek Kupka's Huge retrospective (1871–1957) — the most known French artist of the Czech origin who laid a direct and logical way from the Vienna symbolism to cosmopolitan abstraction. At Grand Palais 300 works from the most prestigious museums of the world, including the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, Guggenheim's Museum in New York, Albertina in Vienna, Ateneuma to Helsinki, National gallery in Prague are collected. By words Markety Teynkhardt, a sokurator of the project, the historian of art from Sorbonne, so turned out that Kupka is less known, than other pioneers of abstraction — Kandinsky Vasilii and Malevich Kazimir. Detailed academic display of the artist, since his early works of the 1890th years before late works of the 1950th, has to meet this lack. At the same time to remind the motto of Kupka which is pertinent in many situations and beseems any artist: "In all arts when you allocate one thing, it always is from the very beginning connected and there is because of existence another".
