In vicinities of this settlement in February-March, 1943 16 Lithuanian Klaipeda shooting division Decorated with the Order of the Red Banner accepted baptism of fire. For a month of fights in "Death Valley" on border between Pokrovskoe district and Sverdlovsky rayon it suffered terrible losses: out of operation left staff more than a half.

in the Summer of 2016 near the village of Alekseyevka found hospital burial of fighters of the 16th Lithuanian shooting division. Forces of summary group of searchers succeeded to find and lift remains more than 150 people who have died of wounds during fights in the winter of 1943.

More than two thousand Soviet soldiers and commanders found

the last shelter in the mass grave which over time has turned into a memorial complex.

on February 24 to memory meeting there arrived the acting the Governor Andrey Klychkov, chapter Pokrovskoe district Dimitri Ivanovich Romanov, representatives of regional and municipal authority, search groups, regional committees of regional office of Communist Party of the Russian Federation, relatives Senkin Kuzma.

They assigned flowers to a monument, having observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen.

"In a year of the 75 anniversary of release Oryol region from fascist aggressors and the 100 anniversary of Red Army our main objective – to resist to any attempts to copy history, - Andrey Klychkov emphasized. – It is necessary to collect memory on particles, to cultivate patriotism, the love for the country based on a unification, to be proud of achievements of the Fatherland".

On behalf of the Union of veterans and the movement "Immortal Regiment" Lithuania need of friendship of the different people and forming of constructive diplomatic relations were emphasized by Kiselev Sergei.

As it was noted, in two years of work of searchers names of 350 fallen fighters of a division were established.

Also today the head of the region visited Alekseevsky high school at which the museum devoted 16 Lithuanian Klaipeda shooting divisions Decorated with the Order of the Red Banner is created.

Then Andrey Klychkov examined "Kamenets's" sacred source in a mudflow of Verkhososenye which was well-planned at the expense of donations.
