Vandals in Lithuania profaned a monument to the Soviet workers

the Police County of Marijampole Lithuania began investigation upon vandalism concerning a monument to the Soviet activists killed in 1946 by participants of the armed anti-communistic underground.

"About an act of vandalism were reported by locals. Incident is investigated", – quotes information agency "ITAR-TASS" the message of a district commissariat of police.

It is noted by

that on a monument red paint painted five-pointed stars and a swastika. For the period of investigation a monument wrapped up a film.

the Monument is located

in the village to Gribina. It is established on a death place more than 20 Soviet workers who were ambushed on June 4, 1946, arranged with participants of the armed anti-communistic underground.

Earlier on a monument painted over the Soviet symbolics.

Recently this monument excluded from the register of protected objects of culture.
