Ex-senator condemned for plunder Belgorod region appeals against sentence

Municipal court of Moscow will consider the complaint to arrest of property of the former representative Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from Belgorod region Popelnyukhov Sergei , reports Abireg.ru . Protection of ex-senator and the former director general LLC "Stroyinvestinzhiniring" also intends to appeal against court sentence for plunder of billion rubles at JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "ROSOBORONEKSPORT" .

As already reported REGNUM news agency information agency "REGNUM" , Lefortovsky district court of Moscow in February, 2017 sentenced Popelnyukhov Sergei to seven years of a standard regime penal colony for plunder more than 1 billion rubles at construction of plants on production of Kalashnikovs in Venezuela.

According to the investigation, the company Popelnyukhov Sergei received from JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "ROSOBORONEKSPORT" 1,1 billion rubles within the contract on construction of plant on production of Kalashnikovs and cartridges to them in Venezuela. Money was transferred into accounts of firms under control to ex-senator from February, 2010 to June, 2011, and the enterprises remained unfinished.

Worker who built these plants of these enterprises, till some months did not pay a salary. After their complaints of Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation brought criminal case. Popelnyukhov Sergei was detained in June, 2015.

Popelnyukhov Sergei did not admit the guilt. According to him, the high rate of inflation in Venezuela prevented to complete plant.
