Iran in 2017 plans to refuse gasoline import for the first time in 36 years, the executive director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Kazemi Abbas told who the Shana agency quotes, gives Day.Az with reference to Information company "RIA Novosti" .

"Judging by existing oil processing projects, this year becomes the last year when in the Iranian ports gasoline parties unloaded, and next year import of these strategic goods which is in great demand, will end", - told Kazemi Abbas.

According to him, at the beginning of a year the volume of import made 10-12 million liters of gasoline a day, but now the indicator decreased to 4,5-5 million liters in den.

Predstavitel NIORDC noted that the budget the next year does not assume costs of gasoline import.

It added that in the future start of several more projects on oil processing in Iran is planned. In particular, by the end of the year (on the Iranian calendar, comes to an end on March 20, 2017) it is planned to put into operation two oil refineries - in Bender - Kazemi Abbas and Lavane. The first phase of other large oil refinery will be entered into the same time - Persian Gulf Star Refinery which power will make 36 million liters of gasoline a day.
