Scientists confirmed authenticity of a sofa on which as earlier it was supposed, after duel the poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin died, reports "Interfax" with reference to the director of National Pushkin Museum Sergey Nekrasov.

According to him, when the wounded poet put on a sofa, its vest was soiled by blood. The forensic scientist could take samples from a sofa, but it turned out at it only from the 27th attempt. Besides, to employees of the museum allowed to take on research a thread slice from clothes that remained on an ancient piece of furniture within 179 years.

Sergey Nekrasov noted that tests coincided, that is is proved that on a sofa really traces of blood of Pushkin. "It is that sofa on which Pushkin died, now to it there is an exact documentary medical confirmation of the highly qualified specialist", he added.

The sofa on which Alexander Pushin spent the last hours of the life, was brought to Petersburg from the estate in Mikhaylovskom. It put in an office of the poet in 1937.
