110 years ago, on January 13, 1916, the great Russian scientist, the inventor of radio Alexander Stepanovich Popov died. The name Alexander Stepanovich Popov is entered by gold letters in history of the Russian and world science. Creation in 1895 of a first-ever radio receiver became result of its long-term experiences in area of a radio communication. However, the priority Alexander Stepanovich Popov in this area is challenged in the West where his name is almost buried in oblivion, and as founders of radio consider other scientists — Markoni G., Lodzh Oliver and Nicolas Tesla.
