"We will continue training of the Kurdish fighters in Iraq and we can even increase it. Thus, we will be able positively to answer a request of the United States" — Niiniste declared during joint with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
As were reported earlier on Wednesday by the Minister of Defence of Finland Yussi Niiniste, in Iraq now is 49 Finnish servicemen participating in training of the Kurdish fighters for participation in operations against IG.
At the same time he noted that Finland does not intend to direct the military personnel directly for participation in operations in Iraq.
