India decided to resume import of diamonds after a 2-month ban

The Indian diamond industry decided to lift a 2-month ban on import of diamond raw materials since December 15 in connection with situation improvement in the market. About it reports agency to Rapaport News with reference to results of a meeting of Council for export of jewels and jewelry India (Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council). "The decision to lift a temporary ban was made because of increase in sales stones to United States of America before New Year 2017 and reductions of stocks at producers" — the chairman of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council Vipul Shah explained.
