Researchers Japanese National institutes information and communication technologies, Polytechnic university Eindhoven and Universities L'Akuil established a new record of speed of data transmission on one fiber-optical cable. The new record made 22,9 petabits a second (22,9 million Gbit / c), it more than by 20 times exceeds all world Internet traffic in a second. According to the press release, it more than twice surpasses the previous world record in 10,66 petabits a second.
