University Pandzhab in Union Territory of Chandigarh, created in 1947 — one of the largest in India, its campus occupies considerable part of the city, and many buildings are constructed according to Le Corbusier's project and are among the main sights of the region. The faculty of anthropology has long and nice history of research and teaching; now here about hundred fifty students are trained and according to the programs 8 young scientists work.
