The Riga council for monuments did not support dismantle of a monument to the Russian commander Barclay de Tolly, reports Delfi. Council did not see the lawful bases for monument demolition as Duma of Riga is connected by contract donation and service with the businessman Gomberg Eugenie who financed monument installation. However in council the opinion was expressed that the question hardly can be considered solved and it is necessary to consider it yet time because probably requests for dismantle will continue to arrive.
