The composer Sergei Mikhaylovich Slonimsky the first in Russian Federation composed the opera based on Bulgakov's novel. But in 1972 it it appeared under a ban and since then sounded in our country only in concert execution. In the 70th years of the last century the author – Sergei Mikhaylovich Slonimsky suggested to stage the opera "Master and Margarita" to Youri Aleksandrov.
