Autonomous Region of Madeira in the settlement Porto Velho in the west of Brazil led drying of the river to an acute shortage of water from which not less than 15 thousand people suffered. The record drought which has fallen at once on some states of the South American country became the reason. Inhabitants of coastal areas are compelled to buy water in the neighboring city, passing more than 30 kilometers in one party as wells almost completely dried up.
