Day of the armorer. Professional holiday of all employees of defense industry complex, founders of the domestic weapon, the experts who are going in for history of weapon business and studying of traditions of the Russian weapon. It was established by the decree of President of the Russian Federation of December 3, 2011 at the initiative of the designer of small arms Mikhail Kalashnikov and the Union of the Russian armorers. On September 19 it is chosen because this day the Orthodox church celebrates day of memory of the archangel Mikhail Kalashnikov who in Izhevsk since the XIX century is esteemed as the patron of armorers.
