On Despotiko's Greek island in a sanctuary archeologists found a kouros. It is type of a sculpture of the youth athlete, usually naked, being an example of Ancient Greek plasticity of the period of antiquity (apprx. 650 g BC — 500 BC). Similar statues put on tombs and in the temples devoted to a certain deity. Despotiko — the small desert island in the Aegean Sea, relating to group Cyclades.
