New researches opened a huge monumental water sanctuary Nimfeum — over a reservoir in Perperikon's southern part. Professor Nicholas Ivanovich Ovcharov, the head of excavation of an archaeological complex, reported that this construction belongs to 2-3 century of century Perperikon — the archaeological complex located at the height of 470 meters near the Bulgarian Kardzhali, in East Rhodope. The settlement is considered one of the most ancient megalytic monuments. Still archeologists thought that on this place there was only a reservoir with a volume of drinking water about 0,5 million liters and about 5 meters in depth...
