The international team of scientists investigated the largest sugar plant and the estate in the island state in Central Africa — São Tomé, constructed in the XVI century. It appeared that value of this archipelago in the history of the Atlantic world is greatest: exactly there was an economic model of plantations which later Europeans applied in North America and South America.
