This day in 2006 the Framework convention on protection of the marine environment of the Caspian Sea (The Teheran convention) came into force, and in 2018 the Convention on legal status of the Caspian Sea – the historical document which has recorded arrangements on the basic principles and an order of interaction of five coastal states (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Turkmenistan) was signed.
