Among factors which were considered by authors of the list — the housing cost, transports, food, clothes, entertainments and services. Besides, they considered rate fluctuations of national currencies. The standard of living was taken as a basis in New York. Hong Kong is followed by four Swiss cities: Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Bern.
