During the Great Patriotic War Pushkinsky reserve was occupied with fascist armies. Occupation lasted exactly three years: from July 12, 1941 to July 12, 1944. The German armies were beaten out from Pushkin Hills for the river Great by military units of the 3rd Baltic front, but before retreat the enemy mined the reserve territory. Thus in a grave Pushkina Alexandra put such quantity of ammunition as though it there was a military facility, instead of a culture monument.
