On June 22 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk square opening "Memories of defenders of a law and order" took place. The top officials of the city and area, police officers, veterans, representatives of law-enforcement and power departments, family of employees participated in a ceremony. In 2006 at the initiative of the guide of Department of Ministry of internal affairs of the Russian Federation on Sakhalin region and Council of veterans of law-enforcement bodies in the regional center the monument to the staff of the law-enforcement bodies which were lost at execution of an office debt was built.
