Why in China decided to drill a well of 11 000 meters in depth?

All this occurs in the Takla Makan Desert in the northwest China. There are many ways with which scientists can find out that occurs under Earth surface, for example, having measured seismic waves. But nothing will be compared to very deep hole which will allow to glance in the subsoil of our planet. According to the Chinese Information company "Sinkhua", works on drilling of a well of 11 100 meters in depth in the Takla Makan Desert in the northwest China are conducted now.
