Tion-in is the main temple of Buddhist Schools Pure Earth to Japan, located in Kyoto. This temple was built in 1234 in memory of the teacher Honene Genti who based Dzedo's sect (Pure Earth) the Japanese Buddhism in 1175. Dzedo's sect attracted a great number of followers thanks to the simplicity and ease of understanding of the doctrine. It remains to one of the most numerous Buddhist sects to Japan to this day.
