Montenegro Uniprom stopped production primary aluminia at KAP plant

The Montenegro company Uniprom stopped production primary aluminia at Kombinat Aluminijuma Podgorica (KAP) plant, having disconnected 12 electrolysis cells remaining in operation. The enterprise will continue to let out aluminum production, raw materials for which Uniprom will import. The majority of electrolysis cells was disconnected by Uniprom at the end of 2021 when the power company Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) ceased to deliver to plant the electric power at preferential prices.
