The prime minister Romania Nikolae Chuke initiated transfer of celebration of 9 May, Victory Day with 9 for May 8, reports TV channel "RT". "To reflect original symbolism of capitulation nazi Germany, I initiate steps by recognition on May 8 official date of celebration to Romania together with our transatlantic partners... So we pay a tribute of respect to all Romanians who battled for release of the Homeland and Eastern Europe from a fascist yoke" — declared Chuke.
