Archeologists on the Great Patriotic War
Military biographies of scientists-archeologists, employees of ours Institutes, developed differently. Many left volunteers on the front and took off a uniform only after the Victory; others continued scientific work under bombardments in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, conducted excavation in archaeological expeditions in the Urals and to Central Asia. There were among them victims of political repression, there were also those who did not live up to the Victory.
