The former head of Committee national security (KNB) Kazakhstan Karim Massimov received 18 years of imprisonment. He was found guilty of high treason, violent capture of the power and excess of powers of office, reports online portal "Tengrinews.kz". Earlier general prosecutor called Karim Massimov the main organizer of mass riots in January, 2022. Karim Massimov is also deprived of a rank of the general and the state awards, to it for life forbade to hold positions on civil service.
