On April 12, in Day of astronautics, representatives of Council of young scientists and experts CENTER FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH "KURCHATOVSKY HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION" VIAM assigned flowers to a monument to Youri Alekseevich Gagarin on Leninsky Avenue. Ours institute made the contribution to creation of this monument. His authors were faced by a task – to pick up the alloy, allowing to express idea of a monument. In 1979 the sculptor Bondarenko Pawel and the architect Yakov Borisovich Belopolsky visited VIAM where institutes in the field of titanic alloys examined development.
