Public figures suggest to reform Day of Russia on June 12

The group of public figures and businessmen published the open letter with the offer to reconsider approach to celebration Day of Russia on June 12. Authors of the letter suggest to keep date in a calendar of the state holidays, but to associate it not with the voting day of the Supreme Council Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1990 for the Declaration on the state sovereignty Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic as a part of Soviet Union which was supposed to be updated politically, and with events of 862 years: to pre-revolutionary Russian Federation this year was considered as a reference point of national political history.
