Scientists analysed genomes of 550 modern and ancient representatives of the people an ashaninka which lives in rainforests of Peru. It appeared that in the people there are at least two different genetic groups. Besides, an ashaninka come from the southern part South America and are connected with ancient inhabitants of the Caribbean islands.
