12,5 million euros will be allocated for reconstruction of the Ekabpilssky dam

The parties forming the government, agreed to allocate 12,5 million euros for dam reconstruction in Jekabpils, the mayor Jekabpils Rayvis Ragaynis reported.  Source: LETA the Dam will be strengthened by concrete from within. Works will last over a year as have to pass purchases and negotiation procedures. By Ragaynis's calculations, 50%-60% of construction works on the most damaged sites of a dam can be complete this summer, that is on a site, the most affected by a flood in January. The rest can be made in the next season, but possibility of carrying out construction works depends on fluctuations...
