Government State of Queensland adopted amendments to the law on the content and protection of the animals, toughening requirements to owners. Now in case of violation of obligations for care of an animal, causing to it long sufferings or death, to the owner threatens till 3 years of imprisonment. As reports the Australian portal of beefcentral.com, these are the first amendments made to the law on protection of animals from the moment of its coming into effect in 2001.
